It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her newest gem.

Originally famous as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

"A chance to take the field and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was out Australia needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament need to hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.
